About the Programme

The program is designed to help individuals from multicultural backgrounds build Cantonese speaking and listening skills. No reading or writing is required—participants learn through clear grammatical comparisons between Cantonese and other languages, with local volunteers joining each class to support real-life practice and conversation.

The course is offered at three levels (Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced), making it easy to start at the right point and progress with confidence. Enroll as an individual, or form a group of at least six people to arrange a private timeslot. All classes are free.

Learning Cantones is Easy!

Hi, my name is Drammani. I'm from Ghana and I study in Hong Kong. I joined this class because I want to understand Cantonese so that I can speak with the local people better and understand their culture and also uh connect well with the Hong Kong community.

This class has been very helpful. Through this class, we have learned a lot of daily useful expressions in Cantonese. And now I have more confidence to speak with people and also express myself. And then I have improved my listening skills. So this class has been structured like practically!

2026/10 – TKW Intermediate Cantonese Class

B) Activity Details

Date: 22/10 (every Thu, 8 lessons)
Time: 10:00 – 12:00
Venue:  To Kwa Wan Service Point (1/F, In House, 307 To Kwa Wan Road)
Content: Further enhance your daily Cantonese proficiency!

Target: 10 EM Ladies (who completed Basic Class)

Fee: FREE of Charge 
Remarks:

      • A test will be conducted to ensure participants are at the intermediate level.
      • Will first do basic revision before teaching advanced content.

2026/09 - NTK Basic Cantonese Class

Application Deadline: 16/09/2026 (Wed)

A) Eligibility
You may apply for our class if you are:
1)  A Non-Chinese resident.

B) Activity Details

Date:  (every Saturday; 8 Sessions total)

  • Sep: 19, 26
  • Oct: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
  • Nov: 7

Time: 11:00 – 13:00 
Venue: NTK Service Point (Flat E-G, 2/F, Yen Hau Mansion, 94-110 Ting Fu Street, Kowloon.  )

 

Content: Basic Cantonese Speaking
Quota: 12

Fee: FREE of Charge ( with $300 Deposit)
Remarks:

      • A HKD 300 deposit is required.
  • For any absence, regardless of the reason, HKD 100 will be deducted for the class ‘snacks fund’. 
  • The deposit will be refunded during the last class.

  • 23/05/2026 to 11/07/2026 (every Saturday; 8 Sessions total)
  • Time: 11:00 – 13:00 
  • Venue: To Kwa Wan Service Point
  • Target: 12 Non-Chinese youth between 16 to 30

2026/04 (+1pt) – TKW Ladies’ Intermediate Chinese Class

  • Date: Starting from 2/4 (Thu), held every Thursday until June
  • Time: 14:00-16:00
  • Venue: To Kwa Wan Service Point
  • Target: 10 EM ladies

2026/04 (+1pt)– TKW Ladies’ Basic Chinese Class

  • Date: Starting from 9/4 (Thu), held every Thursday [except public holiday/ special notice]
  • Time: 10:00-12:00
  • Venue: To Kwa Wan Service Point
  • ⁠Target: 10 EM ladies who cannot speak Basic Chinese
  • Content: Let’s learn and practise basic daily Chinese in a relaxing and fun way!

2026/02 - TKW Youth Basic Cantonese Class

  • Date: 08/02 to 12/04/2026 (every Sunday ; total 8 sessions)
  • Time: 15:00-16:00
